*In response to Dawn.com’s forum, an eyewitness, Waheed Zuberi, shares his photographs from the explosion during the Ashura procession on M.A. Jinnah Road on Monday afternoon.
I am sorry to see this tragic loss of life. May their souls rest in peace.
Heartfelt condolences for all the Shaheeds and their families.
Let’s spare a thought for our brothers in security services. Police, rangers etc. Especially the lower rank staff who bear the brunt of all such attacks and working on probably the world’s most dangerous and difficult jobs. Even in this attack, it is being reported that a Rangers man blocked the bomber, otherwise the casualties could have been even higher.
Our country will survive these troubled times inshallah.
Very Very sad, That is what I can say at this time. I don’t know what is happening to those mad minds who kill human without any proper reason.
We have only two ways, either die by there bombs or try to find solution behind the scene.
But in this running life every one is so much selfish that no one is bother about any other human. I am writing these lines and feeling sorrow for those who die but after a few time I will continue with normal life. Even this is also with those who lost there family members, But what we can do? This is what we need to think so that our coming generation will not feel or face such situation.
‘GOD HELP US’ ‘GOD BLESS HUMAN’
Our Prophet and his family, his grand son Hazrat Imam Hussain, he did not give up so what we can do is self protection. I have seen in previous years the organizers or majalis they did their security on their own. like boy scouts, those persons who are related to Edhi and also specially those police man who is alert for our security and don’t care about his life. I really appreciate police department.
As I also feel like Miss Hina that she say I am deeply sad and my condolences to those families who lost their loved ones.
Salam,
As we know that our county’s condition is bad, every day’s we listen a Bomb Attack then why don’t we think to perform religious Majalis, Matams, Jaloos in Boundary like in a Mosque or at Imam Bar Gah.
So its my Humble request that please do your religious Majalis, Matam, Jaloos etc at your place not on the roads because this will help others to do bomb attack easily.
Salam,
It is a really barbaric act and those who have done it are not Muslims. That’s one thing. What they are trying to do is to sow seeds of hatred amongst us. But they have failed on this account. People of Pakistan will always be united as a nation, InshALLAH. And we know exactly who our enemy is.
Another point is about setting of property on fire. This act of vandalism cannot be carried out by the mourning mob. It’s impossible. The whole thing was a well thought of scheme to induce terror and instability. And the media kept showing messages from higher ups who asked the people to calm down.
May Allah bless us all.
Ameen.
What a sad incident. My condolences to the families of all the blast victims.
We all deeply condemned the act of terrorism, but one should explain why these Jalsa and Juloss are permitted by authorities in such hard time, Nation faced same type of terrorism activity in Nishtar Park three years back. It’s not easy to provide security to crowd for six to eight hours on six kilometer distance. I think Ullmah and Religious Scholars should came on front and avoid such religious activities which put government and nation in shock.
My heartiest condolences to family member whose loved one got Shaheed.
It’s pointless to condemn such attacks, for how many times will you and me condemn such attacks. One has to realize that it’s time to act and act against the people who we all know who they are but we as commoners can do nothing but talk and move ahead in life.
Do we have the power to go against them?
Do we have any right full person to lead us in the right direction?
Sectarian and religious wise we are so badly divided, that we have forgotten that we are humans firsts and ought to have humanity in us, but we don’t have it in us and therefore raise such questions like how can a Muslim kill a Muslim. I am asking, how can a fellow human kill a fellow human. Does anyone has a answer to this. When we do then these bloodshed and killing will stop till then let’s pass our time by condemning such attacks and then get back to our normal lives of earning money without humanity.
What have we achieved by condemning such attacks. Will they stop. No they will not, till the people in power don’t want them to. Can we raise our voice and act against them. Who will lead us. Questions and questions but no answers, only talks? and then one day we also will die and the next generation will also behave in the same manner. Understand this beyond the written words.
Our country is being murdered everyday. Let us help the people who have it worst. That is what we can do in the face of such blatant, ruthless lack of humanity. Let many of our everyday actions be directed towards fighting this disease and ignorance and unspeakably twisted mindset.
Why can we not help them rebuild their shops, for instance? Or visit them in hospitals? Or give blood to the injured? Why are we sitting at home right now?
Pakistani Media Outlets have once again shown their incompetence in reporting any incident by blaming the public for setting up blazes. Eye witness accounts tell us that within minutes of the blast shops were set on fire. I just have one question. since half the people at juloos continued on to finish the juloos and the other half started helping the emergency workers, the only logical explanation that can be derived with common sense is that there were people who knew about the blast and were ready to set blaze to shops and other places as soon as the blast. Since no one who came to juloos had any such flammable chemicals at hand in the juloos. Who are those people who set the fire?
As a Muslim Shia I am very much upset by what happened yesterday as it was something not acceptable by any means, a day on which we mourn the Shahadat of IMAAM HUSSAIN (A.S) on that day this kind of act is not acceptable.
I think that this was all pre planned by the terrorist as its hard to believe that after the blast shops and building have been burnt so fast. How is it possible.
My heartiest condolences to family member whose loved one got Shaheed. I will call every dead person SHAHEED.
Except the one who did this crime.
My hearty condolence to the effected families. May Allah give them strength and peace.
Very sad to see people dying. I really wish these every day occurrence of such deadly incidents would end.
My heart cries for the shaheeds and all the affected….
I would ike to see people like Imran Khan, Qazi Hussain and Maulana Fazlur Rehman to step up and condemn suicide attacks on any Muslim or civilians. Their silence is consent of these barbaric acts and an evidence that they support the Talibans.
I agree with Amber, Pakistan govt. had the capacity to bring many of these murderers to justice, but did not care about the country’s future.
As a Muslims we have some complacency like:
1- How can a Muslim kill a Muslim.
2- They can’t be Muslims.
3- A Muslim does not kill innocent people.
These words are commonly heard. This is probably a wish of good Muslims. The reality is that Muslims had been killing Muslims.
Criminals, terrorists and vested interests have no religion, caste creed and transgress all boundaries in pursuit of their heinous designs.
We all have to stand against these crimes and criminals in all its manifestation.
May God give strength to our people to face these situations boldly and defeat these terrorists. Ameen
My condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones. This is a shameful moment for all of us that being Pakistanis we are killing our own people and destroying our own assets.
I feel sorry for our country and country men. All we can do is pray.
I totally agree with Hasan.
Not only Moharram but all processions, by any religious or political party, especially through such treacherous areas, must be banned. And so should all the provocative hoardings that covered Karachi before the event. Such hoardings, mostly by an aspiring religio-political leader, were saying touch to the trouble makers on the other side. His learned late father would surely have disapproved it.
This is not giving in to terrorists but taking possible precautions against them. It is like keeping the doors of your house closed at night for the fear of robbers rather than keeping them open and asking police to guard your house.
Howsoever sad the incident, we must learn lesson from it to make our tomorrow safer.
What is Sunni or Shia? Muslim is a Muslim. Killing even an innocent non-believer is like killing the whole of humanity. I’m sure this is done by someone who wants to malign and splinter Islam into different sects and damage Pakistan. I know that it’s very difficult to have patience in such a grief struck moment, but ‘InshAllah Massabereen’. Its time we should repent on our sins as a nation and as individuals and ask Allah for His Mercy and Forgiveness. May Allah keep us on the Right Path and unite us as a one Muslim Nation. (Ameen).
Firstly as a Muslim and as Pakistani I strongly condemn these cowardly acts and pray for the souls of the victims and their families.
We can clearly distinguish the suicide bomber as being the terrorist but how should we categorize people who have burned shops and infected monetary losses.
As a measure we should avoid the massive gatherings as sorrows grows exponentially and seeds of happiness would take a longer time to flourish.
This fight can only be won once we control our desires; this was the lesson, which was taught with respect to this month.
I saw clipping of the blast and was shocked to see it. Every one was taken aback.
Now all countries should realize that Terrorism is no good for any country. It’s in humane act.
Just imagine terrorist have chose such a day for killing. It was planned to give rift in society.
God Bless the departed soul.
I think it is the time government should sit and also design and formulate the strategy to be adopted about the aftermath of these type of attacks as how’s it possible that within few min of the attack ablazement started for sure there is group whose job is to further intensify the situation. My sympathy to all those who led their live in these attack and salute to those who carry on the procession without any fear or creating any panic.
