  1. Ahmad Zubairi says:

Very sad news he has been one of the best captains. I really hope he takes it back, Pakistan team needs him. There is no one else to be the captain. In my opinion Dasti should be taken to task. let him come on TV and present his evidence. Younis doesn’t need to be dishertened because of these senseless comments.

  2. KKNIAZI says:

    Pathetic, to say the least.

What a mockery of events by these people. I don’t even understand how they have been elected to office!

    Cheers,
    Kaleem

  3. Khurram says:

In my opinion, the proven corrupt politicians should resign instead of leveling baseless allegations against innocent people. And Mr. Butt should start thinking hard and make decisions by consulting all stakeholders.

  4. khalid Saeed says:

To make allegations is nothing new in Pakistan and Younis khan is very much aware of it. It is sad that he could not bear the pressure and resigned. This is very simple way to seek protection from the problem. He should have stood fast and fought for the sake of cricket and his country. His resignation simply shows that he at the end of the day is not that mentally and psychologically strong as any cricket captain has to be in country like Pakistan. Question here is who will replace him under the current scenario, unfortunately Pakistan does not have Imran Khan in the squad.

  5. Gaurang Vin says:

what a shame that Younis had to resign! He is gem of a cricketer, player and human being! I am an Indian but appreciate his contribution to the game. This is a great loss for Pakistan cricket and cricket world at large.

  6. Qismat Ullah Khan says:

its very sad for all of us that Younis resigned from Captaincy. He was one of the best captains, he lead the team to T20 world Champions and reach the Semi of Champions Trophy. Why Dasti made such remarks and why Shahid Afridi went to Chariman Butt for Captaincy. Shame on Afridy he was aspiring for capataincy since T20 World Cup.He act as traitor and will not successed. Board should not change captains so frequently, ask afridi to play as a player and vice Capatain.we can not become a successful Team unless we stick to certain rules. team was in disarray one year ago and now it is picking up and maturing for world cup 2011 then such events are unfolding. Board should take care of rules and regulation. Dasti should refrain from maligning Cricketers, he is not doing good for cricket and country.
We request Chairman PCB not to Accept Younis resignation.

  7. MUDASSAR NAZAR says:

Mr.Jamshed Dasti should be ashamed of himself. How can you accuse innocent cricketers just to be in the news?
It is high time people like Dasti were taken to task. Why does n,t he apologise like a real man.Shame on you Dasti.

  8. saqib says:

I hope Younis khan realizes that he is making a big mistake. younis khan is a great captain and without him, Pakistan team will suffer.

  9. Intelligent ploy; well thought out, taken the heat, steam and sting (if any) in the Parliamentary Committee hearing. Resignation submitted to the Chairman PCB who has not accepted it. Committee meeting held and after it business as usual. In fact the resignation should have come from the Chairman PCB. Then?

  10. Imran Ahmad Khan says:

    SHAME ON YOU DASTI

  11. Ali says:

Very dissappointing, not the resignation, but the allegation that prompted the resignation.

This event demands the fans of Pakistani cricket and the pakistani media to play a big role.

Who ever is guilty – Dasti obviously in this case should be punished.

I congradualate Dawn.com for playing a vital role

  12. Haider Javed says:

Its a sad development considering how well the team was playing under Younis Khan’s captaincy. And for the sake of cricket in Pakistan, he should be asked to reconsider his decision.
And for Mr. Dasti, he should be made accountable for all these accusations he has leveled against the National Team. If he has proof (which i am pretty sure he hasn’t any)he should make it public. Otherwise he should face charges of defaming the national team as well as the whole Nation.
The decision makers in the unreachable spheres of Pakistan should take notice of this, otherwise i am sure Supreme Court will have to interfere once again to straighten the records.

The way things are going, i can only pray that May Allah have mercy on our Nation and give us the courage to elect honest and sincere people. Amen

  13. Adeel says:

well if its for illegations on team then the standing commitee should apologize to cricters for saying so.
If its for keeping him out of tour discussion then they should settel the issue.
Lastly younas has to decide how many times he will throw this honour.

  14. Saleem says:

This is unbelievable. Why do we ignore that this is a game and we play against the professionals who also work hard. Its not like we will win every time. I request parliament to encourage our team. This same team won T20 cup for the country. I feel sorry for younis as he is always under such allegation but i encourage him to fight against this and continue as a captain.

  15. zafar jafri says:

Could not find the featured article, was it
    deliberate?

  16. Muhammad Ali says:

Very ashamed all pakistani are younis khan for you!
Its all our parlimentarians fake allegations and our boards unclear policies and due to shahid Afridi’s attitude after the series. Sorry Younis!

  17. mansoor says:

it’s a sad event so to say, Younis was instrumental in leading Pakistan to victory in the finals of T20 World cup in June 2009 and leading the team to the semis in the Champions trophy is no small achievement.

Allegation of match fixing have always surrounded the Pakistan cricket team since long and i firmly believe that Younis does show self-respect when he says that the allegation of match fixing are hard for him to digest.

Let’s hope Mr Butt talks some sense into Mr Dasti’s mind and forces Younis to take back his resignation for the sake of the game millions of people in this country love and follow
