Pakistan vs India: You have to have your say

Update: Dawn.com invites its readers to be a part of its first ever Global Blog and share their experiences by blogging in real time.

No matter where you are, just as long as you’re tuned in to the live coverage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011 India vs Pakistan semi-final, here is your chance to provide your analysis, set the field, live commentate, share pictures and videos, predict the outcome of the match and have your say as Pakistan takes on India in what promises to be a cracking showdown.

For details visit Live: Pakistan vs India

The prospect itself is so hot that it does not require you to employ the art of phrasing and utilise your gift of gab in order to have your say, but have your say you must because its Pakistan versus India and the cricket fever doesn’t get any hotter than this! This is exactly why we at dawn.com would like to invite you to have your say and let it out your way regarding the biggest event, need I say, bigger than the World Cup final that the cricket crazy world is about to witness.

You can send us your critical analysis in the form of a blog post (blog@dawn.com) or shout out in a comment. You can also tweet at us @dawn_com or leave your comments on our Facebook page and we will feature it here along with all the other contributions from our readers. We’ll be challenging our own producers to come up with interesting content on the epic event to be held in the near future but we want you to have your say as well.  Compose a song, make a webcam video cheering your team, or send us an audio visual slideshow! Do something and we’ll put it up for the world to see.

The internet has become an intense driving force in modern times as recent events have shown. Fuelled by the voices of the online population, this time around Pakistan vs India is bigger than ever! So, don’t miss out on this opportunity to have your say, your way, and let it rip. However, we do advise you, for the sake of “good sportsmanship” to refrain from the “free and frank exchanges of views on female relatives” which has always been an essential part of the India-Pakistan rivalry, as alluded to by Cricinfo.

P.S. Our friends from across the border are equal contributors to debates on our website, so let us be insightful towards content vouching India triumphing over Pakistan and not forget that as fans, what we’re really celebrating is the spirit of cricket.

P.P.S. The winner of this competition (it’s not really a competition, it’s just an opportunity for you to rant out whichever way you want) will get the chance to watch the Pakistan vs India Semi-Final of the ICC World Cup 2011 live on our competitor’s television channel!

Taimur Sikander says, “This is what Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rehman Malik had to say about the Pakistan-India semi-final on March 30: “I had given a warning yesterday (Sunday) that there should be no match fixing. This time I am watching it very closely. If any such thing happens, we will take action,” Malik told reporters in Karachi Monday.

“They should continue the practice and go to bed early, rise up according to their schedule and dedicate themselves to the game for Pakistan,” he added.

Mr Malik, we are also watching you very closely. Go to bed early, eat your cereal and focus on your job.

We’re sure it must be a tough job, picking out the right tie and handkerchief combination.

It is understood that you have since called and apologised to Pakistan’s captain, Shahid Afridi about your earlier remarks.

“A section of (the) press has twisted my statement out of context, and wrongly projected my words,” Malik posted on Twitter, Monday night.

You know what they say about those who speak too much…

P.S. The people do in fact trust the players more than they trust you, as is being said by many a Pakistani politician.”

Shagufta Naaz sent us a short piece titled “War Games”:

“‘Pakistan and India go to war in the semi-final’ screams the headline of a leading Urdu daily (incidentally, one of the same group that has been shouting itself hoarse in the pursuit of Hope for Peace). “It’s war!” say my friends as they gear up in green T-shirts (the price of which keeps rising as the date of the match draws closer). “It’s war!” state all the commentators, analysts and of course, the ubiquitous morning show hosts. Oh yes, a match between India and Pakistan can never be just that: a game between two teams; thanks to over 60 years of a very complex, painful history, any meeting in the ground is seen as yet another encounter with the enemy. It’s not just cricket, it’s war.

Excuse me, but am I the only one who finds this casual use of the ‘W’ word distasteful? Yes, winning against India is a matter of pride and honour (or so they say), more so even than winning against the Aussies, even though it was an Australian who called our captain ‘idiotic.’ What would our reaction have been if an Indian had said that I wonder?

But to come back to the impending semi-final, feelings are running high on both sides of the border — and even further ashore. Students studying abroad report that fights between Pakistani and Indian students erupt daily on campuses, even before the two sides have come together in the ground. These are kids, many of whom may not even have seen their ‘homeland.’ Certainly none of them lived through the horrors of Partition, the trials of the ’65 and ’71 wars or perhaps even the tense days of Kargil. So where is all this anger coming from?

Perhaps all Pakistanis are born with an anti-India gene; perhaps Indians too have an anti-Pakistan gene; and perhaps venting this anger at a cricket match is better than taking it out in a more deadly manner. But just for the record — war is about death, destruction and unimaginable misery. A cricket match is about fun, excitement and, if we’re lucky, a reason to celebrate. Let’s try to keep the difference clear.”

Chinmay Sharma says, “Many ppl have said that this is just a game but lets be reasonable it is actually a war on sports field. India and Pakistan are playing after 4 years. It doesn’t mean that ppl will kill each other but its a kind of satisfying frustration of an uneasy relationship like tom and jerry. So far but so close.”

Muhammad Hasan says,  “Clash of rivals, but with manners and ethics. :) bats not guns, balls not artilary crackers.”

Raahil Faraaz says, “There is huge excitement over the match and we are all looking forward to a great game of cricket that will be a victory for sport. It gives me great pleasure to invite all pakistani to visit Mohali and join us and the millions of fans from our two countries to watch the match.”

Zia Ullah Akhunzada says, “It ll be more than a cricket match.Pressure will be on both teams.A great chance for Pakistan to take the 1996 revenge.”

  1. Magister Ludi says:

The real winner of this game will be the big businesses and bookies. They are already swimming in a pool of money and with this semi-final they will now drown in the ocean of wealth.

The World-Cup, Football or Cricket, is a business and the name objective of any business is to maximize profits. As you read comments you will realize that this is what the people had wanted and this is exactly what is now given to them. It his no doubt that things were arranged accordingly so that this semi-finals would take place.

It is OPIUM FOR THE MASSES. As long as people are not thinking about the real issues: who control their resources, the distribution of wealth and who controls the means of production, these sensory and emotional opium are drained into the veins of the masses.

To quote from the glorious Deserted Village:

Ill fares the land, to hastening ills a prey,
Where wealth accumulates, and men decay:
    ….
O luxury! thou curst by Heaven’s decree,
How ill exchanged are things like these for thee!
How do thy potions, with insidious joy,
Diffuse their pleasures only to destroy!

  2. Fahad Javaid says:

Guys, I live in UK.The match build up is very stressed here. We have booked holiday for Wednesday, Pakistani Flags are ready, my four year old son has started recognising Pakistan’s National Anthem as he said yesterday to me Papa this is cricket song (I told him this is Pakistan’s National Anthem)

Only the team good in handling pressure will win. On papers India is a stronger team with an advantage of home crowd and strong batting in Mohali.

I think Pakistan should use Shoaib’s experience as he has the skills of getting one or two important wickets in pressure times (he can also be very expensive).

No matter whatever paper and mind says. There will be only one winner and that is the team in Green.

“Mera Imaan Pakistan, Mere pehchan Pakistan”

INSALLAH Thursday’s Sun will rise with Pakistan’s WIN.

    • Siyalkotia says:

I hope that “Match Fixing” and “Ball Tempering ” players of the Paki Team also think about “Imaan” sometimes.

  3. Satya says:

Well, guys and girls take a deep breath and relax. This is a game; not a war. Do not waste your emotional energies, more so because this is a game between two factions of a split family. It was one country and may be one country sometime again (long after we hawks are dead and gone?) How about a tie? ha ha. Sorry. There shall be a toss in such an event and this may cause even more tension? So just let the better playing team win. Please do not weep. Enjoy the game and have fun. Learn from Sohaib and Sania.

  4. Babar Shameem says:

I predicted before the World Cup began that Pakistan will lift the Cup. It really does not matter who’s in the way. The current Pakistani team has a lot going for it, particularly the fact that there are no superstars, as such, number of them are playing their last Cup, performance is getting stronger with each match and likely to peak in the Final where I expect Afridi to turn his batting form around.

Semifinal against India should include Shoaib at Wahab’s expense. Top four batsmen should / will score 200 in 35 to 40 overs with Umar, Razzaq, and Afridi lighting up the last 10 to 15 overs with another 75 to 80 runs. A total of around 275, if Pakistan bats first, will be sufficient for the bowlers to defend.

If India bat first, they will be held, at best, to 250 or so. Pakistan will reach the target with 4 wickets to spare and a couple overs as well.

Indian team’s batting line-up is strong but bowling is not with the exception of Zaheer Khan. Yuvraj’s been made into a killer by the ineptness of foreign teams which tend to get mesmerized by the supposed spinning wickets of the sub-continent.

    – Babar (from Washington, D.C.)

  5. King Khan says:

If the Pakis put up a good fight and loose (which I hope they don’t) then its OK. Only when they give away a match on a platter is one disgusted. But I feel they are playing much better since the action of ICC against some of the players.

  6. chakraborty says:

Who is dreaming that Pakistan has a good bowling line up and comparing it to Indias batting supremacy. Please

Its only Afridi who is shining.

If we can tackle him only, We will win the match.

And yes We hope Yuvi & Viru will take care of Afridi.

Just think – Virender, Tendulkar, Gambhir, Virat, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Raina……….

  7. Ali says:

Being a Pakistani, I wish Pakistan to win but am aware Indian team is a very good team and will put up a tough fight. I think whoever win the toss will win the game.
Anyway, who ever wins is fine and we should enjoy it. This game must be played with a spirit to bring the two divided nations together.

  8. Syed Saad Suliman says:

This is certainly a clash of the titans. I am a big fan of the Indian batting juggernaut led by Tendulkar, and followed by Sehwag and Singh and Pakistani bowling giants like Afridi, Gul and Ajmal.

Ofcourse i want Pakistan to win, but may i just add at the expense of sounding unpatriotic and purely a cricket fan that even if India wins, i will still be mighty pleased.

Afridi and Tendulkar share the heart of a lion amongst them. No matter who wins, i truly believe between India and Pakistan, let’s not lose our mind and think rationally here. One is the best bowling attack in the world, other is the best batting one.. It’s anyone’s game. This fixture reminds me of the old saying ‘Cricket by Chance’.

    May the best team win!!

  9. AS says:

Finally the greatest rivalry in cricket is coming to a stage not in the west but far east but dead center in India. Being a pakistani fan my soul belongs to a solid pakistani team winning the game. But none theless i ruthlessly supported India throughout and escpecially against Australia. A true cricket affair not the ashes but there will be ashes – tears, joy and glory!!! It remains to be seen you will wear the crown on their way to the eternal victory!!!

  10. faraz says:

whatevers the outcome.i jus wana see a nail bitting finsh..and God willing if pakistan does win this i wana see the reaction of the thousands of indian fans, itd be jus once in a life time opertinuty to see thier faces after a loss

    • Muthu Kumar says:

@Faraz Have you watched Chennai Test of 1999 when India gave Pakistan a Standing Ovation after we lost the game. It is the same faces that you wanted to see that stoop up and applauded just after a very bitter exchange in kargil. No wonder with people like you Pakistan is shown in very poor light…Grow Up !

      Regards,
      Muthu.
      Chennai.
      India.

    • Omar Khan says:

I am sure you would love to see Indian faces after a loss since it’s been a long long time Indian lost in many things. You know that Indians are winning in economy, technology, war etc. If I remember right Pakistan has surrendered to India many times. You guys should stop being obsessed with India and start making Pakistan a prosperous country like India and not breed terrorists. And, yes in Cricket, India did win against Pakistan in previous world cup.

    • Yusuf Pathan says:

Are you sure… Is it a once in a life time oppurtunity?, I think except 2003 WC, they both met each other in all World cups, after 1992!!!

    • AllahRakha says:

And I would like to see your face if Pakistan lose. May the best team win…Inshahallah

    • rk singh says:

unfortunately, you will not see it.

    • kesani says:

i just want to see a happy face on either side of border irrespective of win or loss.It is agame you win some and loose some but the match will be awesome

    • Chandra says:

U think we would’nt like to see Pakistan fans after Pakistan loss. We dont need Gods help, our team will beat Pakistan, the better team will win. Pakistan had good teams before but not now, this team has Afridi as a main bowler. Afridi is not bad but highly overated, he does not scrore more than 10 or 14 runs and is mostly an economical bowler. He has’nt done anything in last ten years against the top 4.

    • Rahul says:

I hope India win this match and the final so we can be a proud nation because of the achievement of our cricketers. Unlike you I do not place too much value or get joy from seeing others suffering or failing. You clearly will be watching this game for the wrong reasons and thus will never really be happy on the inside regardless of the outcome. Learn to enjoy the game for it is.

    • Rely to faraz says:

That would be similar to what thousands had in 2003 WC at Centurion

    • Manish says:

Oh, I wanna see same, the Paki faces after the loss.. :)

    • Mayur Shah says:

Welcome to India…….we never underestimated you whether in cricket or war. You are always equal to india in all aspect no matter your country amy not be in same size of out country. But you are best like us. Akhir purane bhai hi to hai na hum.

    • True_Desi says:

      Wow!!! what a noble thought!!

    • Mohammad S. says:

What will be your reaction if Pakistan loses?

    • MKG says:

Dhoni might have said that people want the Indian team to win the semi-final, and we don’t care about the final. But, I think this is grossly inappropriate representation of the Indian people. Indians were once very emotional about the game, but now, most of them don’t even care. But Indians were never crazy about the game; even if they lost to Pakistan, March 31st will be just another day. In fact for some strange reasons Pakistani people seem to take these matches very seriously, as if a matter of pride. I think, Pakistan winning in Mohali is just another winning, it can never be a national shame for India. There is far more to life than a match for the people of India.

    • GLY Mendon, Baltimore, USA says:

That is the same with Pak fans too, we have seen that in every world cup when they lost to India. this one will not be different either. But the match itself is enthrilling and nerve wrecking at the least. Even a moron who is least interested in Cricket will watch this. It is fun afterall.

    • Siyalkotia says:

      And vice versa !!!

    • Abu says:

yeah because indian never lost to pakistan on big platform..remmebr all work cups,IPL final….anyway best of luck

    • avtar says:

It will turn the other way around and you wll break your tv first.

    • Raj From India says:

i will pray god ” faraz ki aasha poori karo!!!! not to see the reactions of my millions of fans but i wannna Pak to win the match and sure this win will initiate Pakistan towards the growth and progress in all good ways.. My Wishes to Pak cricket team and Pakistan…….
      .

    • Amitabh Bachchan says:

It is indeed good to see your love towards your country. However, Pak team should know they are fighting with India not with Kenya. So ask them to come prepared, who knows within 20 overs PAK Team shall pack pack up. My sincere applogies for the tears they would role by later, but its the game. The best should win.

    • Jack says:

I think faraz forgot the reaction after 2003 match. I think just go to flashback and think how you felt after 1992,1996,1999,2003 then post your comments.

    • (Dr.) B.N.Anand from India says:

      @Faraz

Sir, that is indeed very sadistic thinking on your part. Let the game of cricket triumph. Why to convert the game of cricket into a war game? Please introspect.
      BNA

  11. Capt Prabhat Sharma says:

Being an Indian, I would like Indian team to win. Notwithstanding, I would be happy to see the best team win and one of these two teams to pick up the world cup. Let me remind the readers of this paper, this is just a game, some one has to win and of course some one has to lose. Let not your aspirations weigh too heavily on the players. Take the match it in true sportsman spirit. Pls don’t go after the players of the losing team to take out your frustations. Wishing you all a good match.

    • Salman Siddiqui says:

      Bravo Capt. Sharma.

As a Pakistani, I do want Pakistan Team to perform well but as you said – may the best team win.

    • tony says:

      Capatan Sahib,

your comments are appreciated and true to the spirit of sports man ship.

God bless all the players of both teams and let the best team win.

    • AI says:

I fully endorse & value your comments. I have viewed in TOI blog as well. Although it is only natural that a citizen of any country supports and wishes that his country win. I am however distressed to read majority of Indian commenting on TOI quite vulgarly. Some went to the extent of asking Pakistanis who have participated in the discussion as to why they are in the first place writing in TOI. I have seen dear Indians commenting and so fat not seen any adverse reaction from Pakistani of them in it. Quite many of them are mixing it with politics. This is sport and let it confine it to sport. I am copying what I wrote a short while ago on YOI.
Let better team prevail between Ind vs Pak. It is more or less even contest with India slightly edge up due to its formidable batting line up. Pak batting line up for the first five are unpredictable. However their bowling line up is impressive than India. It is only natural that the home side has the biggest advantage of home crowd like any other country. The spectators have right to support any team and hence majority of the crowd will be for India. Its a sport and one should take it sportingly. Lets hope 1996 scenario of the semi-final between Sri Lanka and India at Kolkatta due to rowdy crowd behavior is not repeated if at any stage Pak has an upper hand. Let us enjoy cricket in its true spirit as it was indeed a gentlemen game then, but perhaps not now. Reading most of the comments by both Indians and Pakistanis is nothing but appalling since it crossed all the boundries of decency.

      • Makarand says:

AI, sorry about the bad comments in TOI.. i feel the difference in Dawn and TOI comments is mostly due to the censorship level…. TOI has less censorship on the comments where as Dawn cuts out the stupid comments….. We Indians love you guys… remember the ovation Pakistani squad got in commonwealth games opening ceremony?

    • Mohammad S. says:

      Well said.

    • Sam says:

Very well put and this Pakistani feels the same way. Of course I want Pakistan to win but if we don’t I hope for some really solid, exciting cricket. May a great South Asian team win. I hope even in defeat that both countries and teams behave sportingly.

    • Ali says:

      I completely agree

  12. Asad Bukhari says:

Pakistan will be playing this as an underdog as India has an awesome batting line up that can score 300 plus in any day. For Pakistan, it all depends if they play Shoaib and if Shoaib, Gul and Afridi can do their magic…it can be their game then!

Well I look forward to a wonderful cricket game, a game that we perhaps will watch again and again in years to come!

    • satya says:

india shall decide chase rather than putting up the total, india has best batting line up so it better to leave the other team to set the target, they have prob in the fifth bowler but they managed , so dhoni should opt for yousuf to strengthen batting further in place of munaf , one has to take note that this world cup shows pakistan has the best bowling stuff,

    • Mahesh says:

Do not undermine Pakistan’s awesome defense and bowling. I see both sides reasonably equal and balanced. I just hope it’s as much fun as it is being made before the match.

      • M. Khan says:

I agree that on paper both sides are not far apart contrary to what some expert would like you to believe. Indian strength is their batting and if indian batting is at 9 on 1-to-10 scale then pakistan batting is at 5/6. Pakistan bowling is at 9 on 1-to-10 scale and their batting is at 5/6. so its an even contest in my opinion and the match will depend on who handles the pressure well that day. i am not a big fan of afridi captaincy but maybe that is whats needed in a chaotic match like this one – someone who is crazy and out there :-)

  13. Razzaq has to be promoted up in batting order, his talent in batting is wasted at number 8. Perhaps between Misbah and Younis. India have a great batting lineup and Pakistan needs to score above 300 + if they bat first on batting wicket full of runs.

  14. Proud Pakistani Pathan says:

Wow what a game this will be….I bet afridi is going to be Boom Boom Booming the indians with his pakistani PATHAN power….come on greenos u can do it……Dil Dil Pakistan Jaan Jaan Pakistan 4 ever……Pakistan Zindanad!!!!!! PAKISTAN PAKISTAN PAKISTAN……..NOW NOW dont get scared Indians…..

  15. Vikas says:

Agree with Zeresh. Its not a war by any stretch. Think both countries have larger issues to handle- Pakistan as it struggles with extremism, and India with the sudden loss of the shine on its economic story, with the removal of the lid on an utterly corrupt governance system.

Lets enjoy the game, sure hope that the edge is there (a. Sure hope India wins, but regardless of the outcome dont think we will either win or lose a war!

  16. Nadia Khan says:

India looks solid, Pakistan looks talented. It will be a great game.

  17. Karan says:

    Hmmmm lets see who wins……
    Dil says India
    Mind Says India
but never predict about Pakistan “THE UNPREDICTABLE”.

  18. Alok says:

Of course India will win …….and we will be the perfect hosts ie …….share the “Punjabi Laddo’s” with our Pakistani Fans who come over to visit Mohali for the game. Even after Pakistan looses we will with all respect with Band & Baaja hospitably escort them to the Wagah Border ……….

    • Shahid Javid says:

Good sportsmanship. I like that. Whoever wins, we’ll enjoy the match.
You never know Pakistani team, they are very unpredictable.
Both teams will be playing with a lot of pressure, but u know, Pakistani plays well under pressure.

    • Akbar Bajwa says:

Appreciate the gesture, but a logical statement would had been, Even if Pakistan wins, Indians will still escort the Pakistani spectators to the Wahga border and treat them with utmost hospitality.
      Cheers

    • Shahid says:

The true test of your hospitality will be when Pakistan wins, not when Pakistan loses.
Hope you have plans in place for that because your security folks on the border wouldn’t let us bring ladoos to Mohali.

    • Bilal Khan says:

Alok … Don’t wanna spoil the mood but We know that Pakistan has won more matches than India but we don’t brag about it unless provoked … India has won in 4 WC which they all the time brag about … We know that we rank no 7 at the moment and India second in ICC ranking. we have lost all our main players recently and don’t have solid batting line up (just look at their averages). But I still guarantee you one thing … If Pakistan wins … We wont taunt you with it our TV & Press etc are more mature in this aspect at least, than their counterparts. All the best for the match

    • H says:

And alok will you extend this hospitality if we win (InshAllah) :) ?

    • Saurav says:

All i want to say is.” History will repeat Again in WC”

  19. Siddhartha says:

Really, nothing can be more emotional than this tie!!Obviously, the best team of the day will win it, but at the same time I hope that none of the teams will let their home crowds down..they should present a good game of cricket which will help the people of the two un-separable neigbours to win the hearts of each other, once again. Plz stop playing the dirty politics, lets wish GOOD LUCK to both INDIA n PAKISTAN teams…support good cricket.

    • Vikrant says:

Couldnt ask for more ! last Wcup 2007 was big flop as both south asian teams were knocked in earlier stages. Boss, its dream come true after long time to see a contest that will excite over 1 billion hearts !!!

    • Muhammad Mushtaq says:

      Well said, Sidd.

  20. shivu says:

I m from India. Hello My Pakistan Brothers and Sisters. This Not a War and Its just Cricket match. Its party time for all Betting Mafias. Hope Cricket wont suffer in all this ambush. I think Pakistan have better Choices. Both in Bowling and Batting they are good, Unless if they make silly mistakes at crucial levels.. and Fielding is one thing that makes Big difference. Its much more bigger element for Pakistan than a cricket match. Pakis needs to bring Cricket back to Pakistan. But please dont support players or officials who puts The personal Agenda more than the spirit of the Game and Nation. Pakistan always have great talent. I wish Imran Khan speaks to Pakistan team at this juncture. They need seniors to boost them up. While for India, They are more relaxed and over confident. Thats not the right attitude to win. Hope They dont do the same mistake which Mighty Aussies did against Pak. Not the Mighty gets the Win all the time but Only those who is desperate to Win for a better reason would Get it. Hope Spirit of the game and Cricket Win.

    • aj says:

I failed to understand why people like you always looks to criticize Indian cricket team. No matter even if they loose we should always support our team rather looking for faults. And God knows how did you manage to find out that they are over confident and relaxed. Dhoni is one of the coolest player and a very calm captain. I have never seen, read or heard any indian player making any tall claims which can suggest that they are over confident.

    • PRADEEP says:

      What are you saying?

And by the way, which side are you on?

    • shiraz says:

Good! I totally agree with you!. Good luck to both teams. I hope Pakistan wins, we really need to let world know that we’re no less competitive team than others and we need cricket in Pakistan NOW.

    • Imran says:

Nicely said, appreciate this thought as a Pakistani
      Thanks

  21. Sam says:

It is a match made in haven. Pakistan’s bowling and India’s batting! It can’t get any better. As an Indian, I want India to win, but I know. Pakistan is peaking at the right moment and it will take perfect batting, bowling and fielding from India to win. As many contributers have already mentioned, regardless who wins, it will be a game to remember.
To my Pakistani brothers my best wishes!
I will be too stressed to watch it live, so I plan to tape it on my DVR and then watch it slowly. As I live in the USA, I will make sure I do not jump to Cricinfo to find out who won and watch the game later in the day. But I am not sure if my heart will allow me to be that disiplined.
Good luck to both Pakistan and India!

yeah man i am in Houston. Have to watch this on live, guess have 2 up all night, gonna watch it at the snooker club with a large gathering of Pak and Indians. I am not way stressed out ’cause i feel Pak is the underdog team in a rebuilding Phase, whereas India team is right now the strongest they have ever been, so i am just watch and chill. Pak wins if Afridi goes Boom Boom.

Sam, I too live in the USA, and know just how you feel….it is way too stressful for me to watch such matces as well…so maybe it is just as well that this will be a working day, and I will have to check the score and result online at work and then watch the match later (being US/Paki, supporting PAKISTAN with all my heart and prayers, but best wishes to India as well.

I will call in SICK that day.

      • Sam says:

        Sarah,
I live in South Carolina. Since my college days in New Jersey, my social circle always included people both from Pakistan and India. Some times I wonder if people living in India or Pakistan knew how easy it is to mix equally well with Indians and Pakistanis living in the USA, may be the tensions would ease back home.
Even now when I meet with my Pakistani friends, we discuss politics of both countries with one BIG difference. Pakistani friends talk about their political problems and Indians talk about theirs and we all feel great.
Back to Cricket. Thanks for the best wishes. It will be a match to remember I am sure.

Two rivalry team meet again in world cup head to head in semi final, the match which both country people been waiting for from start of the world cup. From past history matches Pakistan have the upper edge of winning more matches over india in ODI’s but haven’t converted it in world cup match, this is the time to DO IT. Its gonna be best bowling attack (Pakistan) against best batting line-up(India).
Man to watch in this match is our very own Rawalpindi express(Sohaib akhtar) and Sachin tendulkar.

Watch out for the DUSRA(gugly) people!

    Good Luck team Pakistan.

    • prayas says:

i agree with you prasannajit….i am one among those oldies who have seen Capt. Imran khan and his team playing for pakistan cricket team….imran khan is a legend and well respected among the hearts of indians irrespective he and his team had given a tough time to indian cricket….kapil dev and imran khan are two cricket legends which cricket is proud of….

  24. Tausif says:

Pakistan is better then India in the bowling department hence Pakistan has better chance of defending their score if they play first. Prediction (Pak 280/9, Ind 260/all out) Shoaib Akhtar must play this match. Pakistani batsman can take on Indian’s bowling easily. If the opener gives the same stand as they did against WI, we will WIN this match for sure.

Good Luck Pakistan. No pain no gain. Play for Pakistan and give your 200% and the result will come out automatically..

    • bharat says:

      tausif hahahahah predictor of pakistan….

ok tell who will win the worldcup

MR Prdictor pakistan 280 and india 260 allout. hahahahahha …………..hahaha

    • ulhas says:

Please a note that Australia batting first did not make good score against Indian balling attack..eventhough Aussies had good batting line up…

    • jitendra says:

      Prediction – Pak 120/10 , Ind 126/0 .. India will win !!!!!!

    • Saurabh says:

wow u should replace Arun lal as commentator .. what a great prediction.. but Tausif Ji even horscope reading won’t be a bad choice for u…
