What do you think of the reportedly low key response in Germany?

Marwa al-Sherbini, a 31-year-old Egyptian woman, was stabbed to death by her neighbour Axel W in a courtroom in Dresden, Germany. Marwa, about four months pregnant, wore the head scarf and was involved in a court case against Alex for calling her a terrorist. She was set to testify against him when Alex stabbed her 18 times in front of her three-year-old son and half a dozen German police officers.

The killing has dominated Egyptian media for days but has received comparatively little coverage in German and Western media.

The most astonishing fact for me to absorb is how on earth he got time to stab her 18 times. What was police doing at that time?

  2. Nabil Saleh says:

I agree with ghazanfar. This just shows the increasing lack of tolerance and moral decay in Western society and their media’s shameful but successful effort to cover it up.
Poor lady met her untimely demise.

  3. Syed Ali says:

This is a very sad event. I think this reflects a double standard by a so called civilized society. We cannot however say anything in Pakistan, as we have buried womern, burnt them alive and electrcuted them. The reasons may be different, but precious lives are still lost. How many Pakistanis protest against these incidents?

We must protest what happened in Germany but also protest our own terrible crimes.

  4. Mussa Ali says:

Criminal does not have any religion, caste and cread or any geographic recognition, he is all the way a Criminal. The way we use to propagate is not appropriate. So, a crim occurs any where in the world should be condemn strongly.

  5. S M NAYEEM says:

its not the matter of integration it is simple that many people don’t tolerate other peoples beliefs.
Where are the human right activist, specially woman human rights? If this happened to a catholic woman in afghanistan or in pakistan by the hands of taliban then the whole world would make it an enormous story.

  6. Dr. Azhar Sherkheli says:

Its not a typical example of double standards employed by Western Media. Nobody condones such cimes, but the western media aren’t the only culprits.
Where was our media when people died in the Lal Masjid operation? How much did our media report atrocities committed in Iran against protestors?

Western media is not totally free from bias, but is much better than so called ”Muslim Media” if it exists at all.

  7. Hasan says:

Shame shame and nothing but shame on german media! I feel sad! an innocent life lost!

  8. saad says:

We knew this from the beginning and now we can see it too, that how hypocrite the western media is.
I believe if a Muslim man or woman had done such a thing specially Pakistani, then the whole world would have covered the story.
That man should be given death sentence, were the police officers wearing bangles in their hands.
Are all the laws and accusations only for the Muslims?

  9. Omar Ul Haq says:

This is ridiculous. Are you sure there is nothing else to the story? I know that we all get hyped up and are always ready to discuss how badly Muslims are being treated all over the world but I’m having trouble believing the fact that the neighbor was stabbing her 18 times in front of her three-year-old son and half a dozen German police officers.

How is it possible that the police officers were standing there and didn’t do anything?

  10. Faltu says:

Dastardly. but I think many people believe as long as muslims are dying its OK!!! This seems like racism to me.

  11. Ghazanfar says:

another example of selective journalism and a double standard of western media. Had it been God-Forbid (even) a non-practising Muslim man done this to a women in Germany, I think the news would have been broadcast like a wildfire with heading and debates as to why Muslims cannot integrate into Western society.
