Osama is Dead: You have to have your say

Osama Bin Laden had become a house hold name post 9/11. He will also probably go down in history as the most popular “Most Wanted” personality of all times. Now that the tall and lanky, 60 something man carrying around a kidney dialysis machine in his old age is dead, will the World become a safer place?

Irrespective of who you are and where you’re from, this man has probably impacted your life in both subtle and obvious ways. The acts of this man and his followers have put Muslims around the World and especially in Pakistan, in a very precarious situation. There is no doubt about the fact that the death of Osama Bin Laden marks a significant achievement for the “War against terror”. However, the manner in which Osama has been killed and the place where he was finally discovered raises many awkward questions for Pakistan.

As long as Osama Bin Laden has been in the news, you’ve heard different stories about him, his motives, his sinister plans and what not. What are your thoughts on Osama bin Laden, his life, his death and the likely aftermath of all the events that have taken place leading up to his death. Has justice been delivered or has the World paid too heavy a price for the “Most Wanted” man of all times?

I could see extremism even in this comment space. I see it every where; from Indian occupied Kashmir to Afghanistan war.

Osama was died in 2001. On 16, October 2002 Israeli intelligence reported that: “Osama Bin Laden appears to be dead but his colleagues have decided that Al Qaida and its insurgency campaign against the United States will continue, Israeli intelligence sources said. The Israeli sources said Israel and the United States assess that Bin Laden probably died in the U.S. military campaign in Afghanistan in December. They said the emergences of new messages by Bin Laden are probably fabrications, Middle East News line reported.”

Pakistani authorities have in their hold, UBL’s wife and children. It is very easy to confirm or deny his death. Doubting Thomasses are everywhere. The habit of denials ultimately leads to mental sickness.

  7. KarachiKing says:

The world will become a safer place, but Pakistan will not, there would be more bomb blasts on the establishment and the rulers and the army for helping AMERICA kill osama, pakistan will pay for this act for years to come.

  8. Mansoor Sharif says:

Its great news that this Saudi is killed. This U.S. partner of two decades ago, has caused enough problems to us poor Pakistanis around the world. This man exploited our poor by financing them and setting up and encouraging the Mulla’s bigoted education.

On our part what do we have to say? Where were our Intelligence Services? Where was the KP government? Where was our Interior Minister? Where is our great ISI?

The President and the Prime Minister are busy doing the Bandar Bant. They dont know what is going on right under their nose nor do they care. They are out to complete the 5 years tenure, come what may. They want to ensure that nothing is left in the country which is worth anything. After that they can go wherever they have stored their funds.

I do not support Osama or any terrorist for that matter. Let me, however, say that elimination of Laden won’t pay much divedend to the US, unless and until the Super Power mends its ways. They will have to stop creating Palestines and Pakistans. They will have to stop meddling in the affairs of sovereign nations. They will have to……

Captured less than an hour away from Islamabad, in a military community. ISI knew nothing of his whereabouts? Pakistan is a trusted ally?

In the aftermath of this momentous day, a day when Americans are deservedly shouting with glee at the death of this filthy coward of a monkey, it is my sincere hope that we will reevaluate our “ally” Pakistan.

    • Striver says:

Your cooments, of the US government kind, are overloaded with assumptions, clueless as you people are.

  11. Django says:

At last the demon has been killed. But thing should not stop here, all the groups which think killing innocent peoples in the name of jihad should be eradicated, where ever they are. But if pak is boasting so great about ISI, its funny how they are not able to detect him or they are the one who has given him the cover. One of the big cancer cell is destroyed but sill there are numerous cancer cells in the country which needs to be destroyed. Jihad will never wiin, which ever part of the world it may be.

  12. Binu says:

Killed deep inside pakistan is too much..
Pakistan might have an excuse if it happend in pak afghan border..
Let’s wait for Paksitan’s official response which is about to come soon..
I think Pakistan leaders both political and military,
are going to have a tough tough time to explain this..

    • papatango says:

so inside pakistan on the border is ok, but inside pakistan mainland not….. hmmmm…
