Osama Bin Laden had become a house hold name post 9/11. He will also probably go down in history as the most popular “Most Wanted” personality of all times. Now that the tall and lanky, 60 something man carrying around a kidney dialysis machine in his old age is dead, will the World become a safer place?
Irrespective of who you are and where you’re from, this man has probably impacted your life in both subtle and obvious ways. The acts of this man and his followers have put Muslims around the World and especially in Pakistan, in a very precarious situation. There is no doubt about the fact that the death of Osama Bin Laden marks a significant achievement for the “War against terror”. However, the manner in which Osama has been killed and the place where he was finally discovered raises many awkward questions for Pakistan.
As long as Osama Bin Laden has been in the news, you’ve heard different stories about him, his motives, his sinister plans and what not. What are your thoughts on Osama bin Laden, his life, his death and the likely aftermath of all the events that have taken place leading up to his death. Has justice been delivered or has the World paid too heavy a price for the “Most Wanted” man of all times?
Its goods to hear but there is more Bin Laden now then ever. US and Pak should work on changing minds not wiping out these, it not possible to kill everyone who’s feeling with Taliban because their population stretches from Pakistan to western countries particularly Arab ones.
Hello..Can anyone change anyone’s mind in this world? Could any one change Hitler’s mind? That’s impossible- in fact if anyone tries that, the stubborn man will become even more stubborn in killing others for no reason. The only way is to pick and eliminate, one by one, for as long as it takes. That’s what the world is like, face it or get killed.
How can you change a persons mind who fanatically believes that by killing all Non Muslims, his God himself will bless him !! In fact this acts as his inspiration to kill more and more !!
Change the interpretations of such religions,if at all possible- then only you can change such fanatics. One must preach that all religions are equal and good for all who follow them. The moment we say one religion is better than other, the entire terrorist game begins.
This man if killed is a great news as he was responsible for the death of thousands, and his victims included people of all religions and nationalities.
In the good old days, even the thugs and decoits had the decency of not harming the unarmed, and as far as the chivalry of men in arms is concerned, civilians were off limits. This man had no decency at all, as nothing was off limits for him. People defend him by saying that he did what he did because the enemy is also devoid of any decency, but does this release him of his responsibility? Afterall he claimed to be a muslim….
Another stigma for Pakistanis……!!!
Now that Osama is gone, hope peace returns to Afghanistan and Sudan and Yemen. As for Pakistan, still a long way to go. Pls go after your Hafeez Syeds, Ilyas Kashmiri and Dawoods. As I look at Pakistan we see a country which was economically the most advanced in the subcontinenet in the 70’s to a country which now makes the bottom of SAARC and unlike Bangladesh and Srilanka there is no good news comming out of it. Ask your leaders what they have done to your land. You cant blame the Indians for everything, we are not so competent and even if any one wished none could have destroyed Pkistan the way your leaders have. Go back to the ideals of Md. Ali Jinnah and pull your country up.
From smoking him out of the hills of Tora Bora to killing off suspect Laden look-alike chicken farmers- OBL has died a dozen deaths! The current news is just an indication that US foreign policy is being given a whole new ‘makeover’. And the makeover team Loreal is happily home based and not in Af-Pak or I-raq.
Now more innnocent people will be killed in the name of CIA,ISI and Quada …
you r a fool. you should be the next target
If it is true that americans killed OBL then tell them to show his body why they in the hurry buried him in the sea.It looks like a lie
Anyone who still thinks Pakistan is a free country?
it is free for terrorist.
If its free for terrorist then why they die here???? somehow the world does not have answer to this
& USA is big terrorist, thats why US forces did this operation freely in Pakistan.
Making comments on events of a Preplanned Agenda of Jews around the globe is just making fool of each other
A true martyr and son for Islam. He directly goes to heaven for the virgins and young boys promised. I pray he gets more than what was promised.
so that he will happily live there and never come back. good jibe dude.
cheers
Actually i think that it is 72 virgins – And the young – he has already had several in Pakistan
He is fish food and directly goes to the bottom of the sea. Nowhere else. Good riddance.
Way to go America! You have nailed the symbol of terror… the one man in whose name you waged war for ten years. And now just a month before the troops had to be pulled out, you have justified to your people and the whole world that all the blood and all the money have not gone in vain. The timing couldn’t have been better! I would also like to applaud the single handedness of the operation which makes it quiet understandable that there could be no other sources of information regarding the operation. Also, the respect of religious ritual has to be commended that Ladin’s body was disposed off in the sea within 24 hours “as per Islamic tradition”.
Bravo America! But you could have staged the drama a little better… because I am not buying this.
200% Agreed !!!!
Agreed wth S Malik
Thank God Osama is dead. And sure, he is indeed the biggest, most wanted criminal of all times. We can only hope that with his death, the terrorist activities in Pakistan and round the world will come to an end. But having been killed in Abbotabad is EXTREMELY embarrassing for Pakistan and its million strong armed forces and intelligence. Some very pointed questions will be asked – were Pakistani authorities in the know of Osama’s whereabouts, were they protecting Osama, and so on. And even more embarrassing – Abbotabad is a military town. After all a person who was on dialysis could not be living without the attention of some qualified doctors. Remember many years ago, a Lahore-base doctor was alleged to be treating Osama. May God help Pakistan and give its people the wisdom to see the right from wrong. Time magazine had said a few years ago that Pakistan is the most dangerous place in the world, and Pakistanis raised a huge hue and cry, but ever since that article was published, hundreds of terrorist activities have taken place in Pakistan and thousand of people have been killed. May God help Pakistan!
Well what I can confidently say that Asian Politicians are vouchers who live on blood and meat of common man. Just like Indian Politicians ( their names will soon be published by wikileaks for putting loads of black money in swiss account)..Pakistani politicians too eat money but in 3 folds..
1)From US ,for fighting war against terorrist
2)From Terrorist groups by giving them shelter in exchange for money
3)From common tax payers money
For Indian Pliticians Just replace US with “World Bank” and Terrorist with “Drug Mafias” ..rest is same…
U can judge the reality that many times before America claimed that He was dead…………….
Pakistan is exposed. What next? Dawood caught drinking chai at Gilani’s house of Hafeez Saeed dancing in Zardari’s daughter’s /son’s Baraat!
Time for the people of Pakistan to take some power into their own hands? With the Dictators in the Middle East having a taste of people power – think Egypt and of all places Syria.. it is about time that the people of Pakistan take matters into their hands. Time to say, enough is enough to the Mullahs, Military Men and all kind of radicals. Economic growth is probably more important for Pakistan than anything else.
He could have been killed years ago and his hideouts were known to both Pakistani & US intellegence agencies . US kept him alive to prepetuate war in Afghanistan and Pakistani goverments (both Musharaf and PPP) assisted in their plan to get Dollars. What a shame!!! But don’t be fool that war will finish with Laden’s death. It is an uneding war unfortunately. It seems US is planning to enter Pakistan using Usama’s presence in Pakistan as an excuse.
Osama killed in Pak capital. What next can we expect? Dawood in Zardari’s house or Hafeez Saeed dancing in ISI Chief’s daughter’s wedding! Pakistan’s lie has been exposed.
Check again, its not capital of Paksitan.
OK, it is ‘near’ the capital. Does it change the argument in any way? Dawood’s daughter marries into Miandad’s family. Hafez al sayed roams free. So does Maulana Azhar. Do you want to ask your Military bosses, as to what is happening?
Let us hope a man killing himself and many innocents in the name of religion or politics comes to an end. I appriciate the change of mindset of the ISI after U.S. generals talking tough. ISI may be granted immunity if they come out with the guilty of Mumbai carnage.
Be careful Pakistan. Now Pak will be US next target.
Good news that OBL is killed atlast……!!!
Denying existance of OBL in his territory for last 9 years & now providing assisstance for the highly secrets operation to kill him just 40KMS away from Islamabad……we the pakistanis are wondering wat the hell we are raising security forces for…..to bring us the shame that pakistan army cannot even manage an operation to kill/catch OBL along three companions just few yards of PMA……its 9 hours already after the news broke out and our ISSPR is silent……we the pakistanis have lots of question…..lots of question…!!!
Does our intelligence was unaware about OBL dwelling in abbotabad?……may be Yes…may be not
YES:If this news was shared by american why Pakistan army cannot handle this operation?
NO: if pakistan army was unaware of OBL existence in abbotabad than how we can rely about our nuke sites are in safe hands?……KRL is not that far also
In short all this points towards our incapabilities…..military incapabilties
And the music is gona start for pakistan here onwards.Pakistan is the safe heaven for terrorist across the world…….now its a stamp………AUTHENTICATED
See when UN pass a resolution on pakistan to ban ISI……very near
or when NATO will be mobilize towards pakistan……afterall they are in Afghanistan to fight terrorrism & we are the one who have 5star amenities for world terrorrist….!!!
Pray for Pakistan…!!!
The US has done its job; now it is up to every single Pakistani (man, woman, and child) regardless of religion to do their job in rooting out the imbedded evil amongst ourselves. The evil of twisting our religion; the evil of hating others who do not subscribe to ones’ own ideologies (i.e. blasphemy laws); the evil of pointing a finger in every direction except for turning it towards ourselves and saying we are the reason why we are ridiculed. Pakistanis need to stand on their own firm two feet before we expect others to listen and respect us.
Grow up and wake up Pakistan before we become a distant memory and history!!!
I can sense the fear in you as most of the Pakistanis could feel. However I am sure it will not come to that.
The fear that the Pakistani agencies are weak and divided . They are not on the same hymn sheet.
Army (caught wanting again) pulling one way (their own interests) and the civil government the other way.
There is no sense in making sense of the selfish race of interests.
The image of Pakistan suffers along with many millions of its poor people.
Shafiq
Well said, Shahid bhai. If only everyone in Pakistan realizes this. Education is the key for the awareness; hope learned people like you bring this awareness.
Pakistan will then become a country we all dream off.
The puzzling question is – how could not the USA take trust with Pakistan while undertaking the most sensitive killing in its land? Pakistan is a sovereign country.
There is not being fought any war on terrorism, but US is fighting for her and Israel’s impure interests, and making Muslims their subject. Biggest terrorist of world are US and Israel. Each and everyone all over the world has stitched their lips over atrocities of Israel done upon innocent Palestinians. What a moment of shame is that our Muslim Brothers are applauding the actions of America.
Yes, all your problems in Pakistan are due to the U.S., Israel and you forgot to add India.
If not for their nefarious plans, Pakistan no doubt would have been a dubai, only 100 times bigger !
btw, do you have any non-muslim brothers?
yah bro. abdullah keep drinkin’ that extremist kool-aid !
Mate. Why don’t u take up Mr osamas place.. its empty by the by… please do acknowledge the fact that he was found in Pakistan being sheilded by Pakistanis…
I don’t think osama has done any good to anyone other than causing death of millions of people and filling the coffers of military establishments……
If he had done something like the revolution happening in misleading east now.. he would have been great ——
I want to ask all Pakistanis…
1) Do you really believe that ISI/army had no inkling of his fortified mansion few kilometres from the capitol?
2) If you believe that ISI did really know, then do you think it was wise of them to invite the war into their own country and not reveal him? Wouldn’t it have been much better and saved a lot of grace for ISI, had they given him up 7-8 years ago? How many lives would have been saved? How many innocent lives?
I simply can’t believe it. There are thousands of people who look alike him and I wont be wrong saying that increasing pressure from Pakistani officials on USA to stop drone assaults might be the trigger for such a claim. If one Osama is dead not to forget all these wars and killings of innocent people have already raised thousands of Osamas. Lets hope it could bring bit of fortune to the world as anticipated by Americans and hard to believe by me. Personally, Its just to put the Government under pressure and there is a possibility that Osama was already dead long time back, its just to put the raising tensions right and make a healthy entry without any rivalry into Pakistani soils. Lets hope the questions that foreign media and neighboring friends are raising shall be answered but only after authentic proofs. i do not trust them at all!
The killing of the man does not matter. It is the ideals and legacy he leaves behind that counts. It is to be hoped that at this juncture in history, the elimination of Osama Bin Laden will see the retreat of terrorist forces from the region that will make the presence of US forces defunct so that Afghanistan can go on with its nation building and Pakistan attend to domestic matters of utmost importance and carry on its venture for peace with India, stable politics and economic prosperity.
